As a completely web-based tool, the best possible and seamless use of Okomo depends on some technical factors. It is therefore worthwhile to take a moment to prepare for the ideal setup. The following points should be considered before using Okomo for your first customer consultation:
For best use of OKOMO as an expert, we recommend the following setup:
- Device: Desktop computer: Windows or Mac with integrated microphone and camera.
- Browser: Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Mozilla Firefox in the latest version.
- Internet connection: Minimum bandwidth of 8Mbit/s download and 0.512Mbit/s upload.
OKOMO basically supports all common laptops, PCs, tablets and smartphones with Internet access. However, for the best possible use with full functionality, we recommend that you use a desktop computer.
For devices with running on IOS or Android please use our Apps.
Note: If many resource-intensive programs are running on your device, call quality may be reduced. We recommend closing unused programs or reducing the call quality via the call settings.
OKOMO supports all major browsers: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, and Microsoft Edge.
For optimal use, we recommend using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge on Windows, MacOS, Linux and Android, and Apple Safari on iOS and iPadOS.
Note: If you have many tabs open in your browser, the quality of your call may suffer. In this case, we recommend closing unused tabs or reducing the call quality via the call settings.
If you use other devices or browsers, you have to expect that due to technical specifications of individual devices and/or browsers, some functions of OKOMO will not work or only work in a limited way. An overview of the function restrictions is shown in this graphic.
3. Internet connection
We recommend a minimum bandwidth of 8Mbit/s download and 0.512Mbit/s upload. Okomo automatically adjusts the quality of the video call to the available bandwidth.
If possible, we recommend connecting your laptop or PC directly to the Internet via cable.
If you are not sure if the internet connection is good enough, you can test it here.
For audio as well as video calls, a microphone must be connected to your device. You can test the microphone before a call. If you have several microphones connected, you can select the correct one before or during the call.
If you want to make a video call, a camera must be connected to your device. You can test the functionality of your camera before the call. If you have more than one camera connected, you can choose the right one before or during the call. Even if the other side doesn't have a camera connected, you can start a video call or share their screen.
For the best expert user experience, we recommend using Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge or Mozilla Firefox in their latest versions on a desktop computer (Windows, macOS or Linux).
